Sourcing appropriate furnishings for a 100-year-old home is not for the weak! I was set on finding as many Mission Style and Arts and Crafts pieces as I could find, but due to availability and cost, I found I would need to fill the spaces with a variety of styles. After hours, days, weeks (months?!) of searching online, hunting through antique stores, and hauling items, we have found some items that fits the space AND the vibe!

I have chosen an eclectic mix of old, new, and everything in-between. The items have come from a variety of locations, including Indiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The mission style desk was purchased from a seller who had previously lived in Indiana and moved it to South Carolina… and he just happened to be the former president of the company where my father worked for 36 years. What a coincidence! It has since been returned to its home state and happily resides in our sunroom/office.

The settee came from a consignment shop in Charlotte NC (our home away from home). It was an impulse purchase for sure, but it was the right size for the limited floor space in the living room. Some of the smaller furnishings came from eBay, Marketplace, and local shops. It has been a time-consuming but rewarding experience. The cobbler’s bench fits nicely as a coffee table. I got it from a seller in Columbus, IN. The Art Nouveau lamps were sourced from eBay.

I snapped a couple of pics of the living room and sunroom with my phone. They are not the best quality, but you can see where we are headed with the style. I cannot wait to get the artwork on the walls! I have purchased from local Indy artists, antique stores, and artists on Etsy. I promise to post better quality images in the near future!

With great regard,

Susan
